Your "Go-to" brand for upholstered furniture on a budget!

Hooray! My custom headboard has arrived from Carrington Court!

The first day of Spring is finally here and you may be ready to refresh your home on a budget. I happen to be on a mission to redecorate my own bedroom right now. Carrington Court has been an amazing resource for finding quality upholstered furniture at reasonable price. I have just traded out my traditional wood headboard for Carrington Court's Bergman Headboard, which comes with custom nailheads in the finish of your choice. They offer over 200 custom fabric selections ranging from bold patterned fabrics, to solids, and even leather. You can check out how my custom headboard with Carrington Court turned out in the photo above. It is extremely well-made and I love the fabric. I selected their "Dakota Snow" fabric, which has a subtle sheen and a nice reflective quality that really brightens my room.

I've styled 3 of my favorite Carrington Court furniture selections below to inspire your next redecorating project. These looks all have a fresh contemporary feel and feature Carrington Court's budget friendly upholstered furniture. You will seriously love this brand!

1. Bergman headboard w/ custom upholstery & nailheads | 2. Bubbly Green Table Lamp | 3. Alegria Sital Woven Tasseled Pillow | 4. Nearly Natural Agave Succulent in Vase, set of 3 | 5. Auric Orbit Table | 6. Nika Throw Blanket | 7. Coconut Milk Mango Lavish Hand Cream | 8. Tonka Noir Diffuser

When it comes to relaxing at home transforming your bedroom into your own personal sanctuary will go a long way. Here’s how to style this chic headboard complete with custom nailheads. This luxurious bedroom design will make relaxing at home so much easier!

1. Keats Seat in 'Angela Lime' | 2. Carved Wood Coffee Table | 3. Allurine Floor Lamp | 4. Costura Sectional with Chaise | 5. Agua de Oro framed print by Parima Studio

This compact seat will impress you double when styled as a set of two in your living room. These seats will also do well as a set at the foot of your bed. The lime green upholstery accented with blue piping makes this seat a unique original. Here’s how to add a dose of style and color to your living room with Carrington Court.

1. Salisbury Leather Parsons Chair | 2. Hand-Painted Moroccan Pillow | 3. Horne Scholar Table | 4. Cog Desk Tidy in Gold | 5. Yuda Table Lamp | 6. Nearly Natural 64" Faux Palm Tree & Cylinder Planter with Black Metal Base  | 7. Paris Map Print | 8. Natural Agate Bookends

Love the luxe look of camel colored leather? You’ll love this FAB parsons chair from Carrington Court. Try this chair in your office paired with casual-luxury decor elements. If you prefer a more contemporary look, style this tan leather chair with contrasting black decor for a truly eye-catching look.

Which of these Carrington Court furniture selections is your favorite? The Leather Parsons Chair, the Bergman Headboard, or the Keats Seat in lime green? I happen to also really like their classic Hemingway Wingback Chair which would go well in nearly any space. Hoping you've learned about a new brand that can meet your future furniture needs. I thought I'd take today to show you some of what I've been working on this season. My signature decorating style is warm and contemporary with artful pops of color and I love when clients allow me to use bold colors in their interior designs. The designs I'm sharing with you today definitely have a healthy dose of color and illustrate that you don't have to go overboard with color to have a huge impact. With a few carefully curated pops of color I can accomplish transforming your space with an artful edge. If you like what you see, you're in luck! I'm offering full-service in home decorating for $750 per room. Additionally, I now offer personal shopping as a new service, as well.

Now back to what I've been working on lately...

First up is a client located in the Dallas, TX region who wanted their entire home decorated by Interiors by Jacquin. I convinced them to included this saturated, rich blue in their living room design which has turned this family into certified color-lovers! I matched this deep blue with an accent wall in their dining room, as well. This is just a sampling of my recent work but some great examples of what I can do to transform a client's home.

Amara Blog Awards + "Shabby-Chic" with Chairish co.

Amara VOTE with pink arrow photo Amara VOTE for Interiors by Jacquin_zpspjn7mnix.jpg

Hi everyone!  It's so nice to be chatting with you again today!  I have a tiny favor to ask you that will make a huge difference for me.  I'm nominated for an Amara Blog Award and I would be very grateful for your vote.  It's so easy too.  Pop over and vote now!  Just click here.  I truly appreciate it.  Thank you!!  Now back to your regularly scheduled post.  :-)

Chairish co. Shabby-Chic Challenge

I've been invited by Chairish, an online retailer for high-quality vintage furniture and decor, to participate in their Shabby-Chic Challenge.  Chairish even allows you to sell your vintage items through their website, which is fantastic. I was able to use any of the furniture and decor on their website to create a single e-design.  I must say that I saw many pieces that were very unique and special, which made this a pretty fun challenge!

When it comes to shabby-chic, it's all about taking upcycled, vintage, and antique items and making them come together to create a chic and pleasant aesthetic.  The best thing about the shabby-chic decorating style, is that the look can really morph depending on your own personal style.

Shabby-chic decorating tends to allow an individual's personal style and personality to shine through.  In fact, I think we can learn a lot about our style & preferences based on the type of pre-loved and antique furniture we select. When it comes to my style preferences for pre-loved & shabby-chic furniture, I must say it's all about originality and character.  Shopping at a place like Chairish is right up my ally because many of their furniture and decor items just simply cannot be found anywhere else.  So for me, I like to select the most original items, even with a few small dings because I believe this adds additional charm and character to a space.

What you'll notice most about this shabby-chic challenge is that while I used primarily vintage pieces here, the room is far more chic than shabby.  This just goes to show you that shabby-chic doesn't have to be overly shabby, but can read more boho, rustic, ornate, or in my case today... a dose of mid-century modern!  Like what you see?  You can shop these Chairish finds below!

Client Sneak Peek - Family Room

Happy Friday! With so many exciting blog posts lately, I haven't had a chance to share some of the behind the scenes of what I'm working on.  Today I thought I'd show you a family room design that I currently have in the works.  (Don't miss our special SUMMER DISCOUNT CODE at the bottom!)

This particular project is one of my remote, e-design clients.  I kept the color palette serene with splashes of saturated color.  I also feature a gorgeous mirrored bookcase for photo display, which the client requested after seeing this inspirational blog post.  I am really loving this space!

For the layout, I have two options that we're deciding between.  The homeowner currently has a television on the floor in the center of the room, but in both of my layouts I suggest moving the TV, either to the corner of the room or to place it above the fireplace.

Plan your own room layout with Planner 5D - Floor plans and interior design website! It's for everyone and a great resource.

With the television above the fireplace, there is room to flank the fireplace with matching armchairs, which always has a grand effect.  You really can't go wrong with symmetry!  With this fab design, however, I know it will be fantastic either way.  The homeowner just loves the design, but is trying to decide which layout will be best. What do you think?

I'll leave you with three great decorative items from this chic & relaxing design. They will all add a bit of artful character to your home!

If you're located anywhere in the United States I can design a well-styled look for your home, as well!  I work within your specific budget to create a design that will both meet your needs and suit your personal style.

I'm offering a Summer Special of $150 off e-design services, for a total of $200 per room through August 31, 2015.  Use the code "JacquinBlogDiscount" at the Interiors by Jacquin shop on Etsy.  If you have questions about e-design services or in-home design, please email me with any inquiries.  You deserve to truly enjoy your home, so let Interiors by Jacquin transform your space!
